My romance topic: Erotic Romance

It’s probably no surprise that I love reading erotic romance books. But what exactly is erotic romance? It’s simply a romance story where sex plays an important part in the storyline and character development. There’s a huge spectrum of heat levels and what works for one reader may not float the boat of another. Not only are there varying levels of heat but also a number of sub-genres under the erotic romance umbrella. Fantasy, historical, contemporary, paranormal, May-December, BDSM, ruebenesque, interracial, the list goes on and on.

My current favorite is the sexy BDSM contemporary. I love it so much that I just started a series called The Satin Rose Experience (SRE). Now, if you’re looking for hardcore BDSM, my SRE series is not for you. There are plenty of fantastic authors out there who do hardcore really well (Joey W. Hill is one of my favs). SRE is what I like to call BDSM-lite. The stories within this series do portray mostly D/s aspects of the BDSM lifestyle but the main focus is the sexy love story of the main characters.

Mia and Asher

Take Asher and Mia for example.

Are they not a sexy as sin couple?

Their love story began at first sight in the series introduction featured in Evernight Publishing’s Keyboards and Kink Anthology.

The fire continues in Mia’s Submission, where Mia learns the exquisite give and take of Dominance and submission at the hands of Asher Cane.

The Satin Rose Experience series: SRE, New York’s elite BDSM club residing on the twentieth floor of Rosebud Resorts, contains ten uniquely themed suites, each with its own story to tell.

Mia’s Submission is Book One of The Satin Rose Experience (SRE) series.

Blurb: Hardworking Mia Lavender’s been offered a promotion she can’t refuse–VP of Client Experience at New York’s exclusive BDSM club, The Satin Rose Experience, or SRE. Mia’s kept her submissive tendencies a secret, until now. She’ll have ample opportunity to explore her fantasy because to succeed in her new role at SRE, she will need on-the-job training at the hands of Asher Cane.

During Asher Cane’s very first training session with Mia, he fails to follow his own rules and has the hottest vanilla sex of his life. Mia needs training, and Asher is damned if he’ll allow another Dom to touch her. Can Asher be the dispassionate trainer Mia needs to learn the exquisite give and take of dominance and submission? Or will Mia’s submission come only at the cost of his heart?

Click here for an excerpt of Mia’s Submission.

    modularmates(at)comcast(dot)net

** By the way I loved Marooned in Miami…! Thanks

  2. Ahh. Okay, I can do both BDSM lite and then totally dive into the hardcore stuff, I guess it really depends on my mood and if I like the writing and especially if I like the storyline. No fave authors atm. But I’ll def be checking out Joey W Hills’ work :) And I’m looking forward to reading your books as well! ^_^

  3. Rhonda D says:

I like to switch up the type i read. Sometimes I love the dark and sometimes I just need a little lite dose. I love BDSM though. I can’t wait to read your SRE series. Thanks for sharing!

  4. So far I’ve only explored an extremely light version of BDSM, but it’s something I’d like to learn more about and investigate in the future ;-)
    elyzabethmvaley at gmail dot com

  5. Hey Sandra! Great post!

I do like BDSM erotica, erotic romance… all of it! I’ve read it very hardcore and loved it, and I’ve also read some that was very light and it was good too! Mainly I think it depends on the story behind the actions, because if its just a bunch of sex scenes thrown together for the sake of sex then the reader can definitely tell the difference.

    Thanks!

  6. Molly Frenzel says:

I’m new to BDSM, but am totally addicted. My favorite author so far is Tiffany Reisz.
molly dot frenzel at gmail dot com

  7. Petula Winmill says:

To me the level of sex is not as important as the story . If the book is sex only it doesn’t hold my interest.

  8. Carin W says:

I love BDSM in my romance reading, I read some of most of whats out there. I do have my hard limits but they are pretty outside the mainstream so they are easy to avoid. Thank for taking part in the hop.

  9. Cassandra G says:

Read BDSM though it’s always on the light side. Some authors read are Sophie Newsome and Cheyenne McCray.

  10. I am a reader of both ends of the spectrum for BDSM stories. I probably prefer the lighter side though. SRE series so far has been a great intro into the BDSM world.

    • Sandra says:

Hey Buffy! Thank you for that comment. It’s exactly what I’m hoping SRE is – a welcoming gateway story for those who are new to reading this sub-genre.

  11. Paula Martin says:

Must admit I’m not into BDSM, I prefer to read (and write) about a loving relationship between two equals, where neither is dominant or submissive. Just my take, and I know we’re all different ;-)

    • Sandra says:

Thanks for your comment, Paula! There are so many degrees to this dynamic. Believe it or not, I think of my H/h as equals in Mia’s Submission. I think they feel the same way. :-)

  12. Kelsey S. says:

I love BDSM romance. I read the hardcore and the lighter. Lately BDSM romance has been my preferred genre.
